Questions and answers
Is Gladys really free?
Yes, Gladys Assistant is 100% free and open-source software that can be installed with a single Docker command. There is no subscription required, no limitations, and no credit card needed. It can be installed on any Linux machine including mini-PC, Synology NAS, Raspberry Pi, server, or even an old computer.
Is it hard to install?
It takes some technical steps, but documentation guides you through each step with screenshots and videos. You need a Linux machine such as Ubuntu Server, and then run Gladys via Docker.
Does Gladys work with my devices?
Very likely. Gladys supports thousands of devices through open protocols like Zigbee, Z-Wave, Matter, and MQTT, plus integrations for popular brands including Philips Hue, SmartThings, TP-Link Kasa and Tapo, Shelly, Sonos, Reolink cameras, and LG ThinQ. If a device is not listed, community-built external integrations can be installed in one click, and users can build their own integrations.
