What hardware is required to run FHEM?
FHEM requires a 24/7 server such as a NAS, Raspberry Pi, PC or MacMini with a perl interpreter and attached hardware like USB sticks (CUL, EnOcean, Z-Wave) to access actors and sensors.
What protocols does FHEM support?
FHEM supports a wide range of protocols including HomeMatic, Z-Wave, EnOcean, KNX, Philips HUE, MQTT, Alexa, HomeKit, and many others for house automation, audio/video devices and weather services.
How can you control FHEM?
FHEM can be controlled via web frontends, smartphone apps (iPhone and Android), telnet, or TCP/IP directly. Multiple frontend options are available including built-in web interface, FHEM Tablet UI, and smartVISU.
What are the available installation options for FHEM?
FHEM can be installed on Debian/Ubuntu/Raspbian, Unix, macOS, Windows, and some Fritz!Box models. Docker container images are also available through the GitHub repository.
