How do I write a founder story for my product?
Founder stories are written per product in your account and shown on the product's listing and your founder profile.
Updated
What you are writing
Each founder story covers a single product and is written by one of the people who founded it. Co-founders each write their own story of the same product. Several products means several stories: one per product.
Finding your products
Sign in and open Account > Founder story (/account/founder/story). Next to each product: its state (Not started, Draft, or Published on a number of sites) and a button to carry on. You can also start from a listing: its profile screen in your account has a 'Founder story for <product>' card.
Inside the editor
Under the heading 'Founder story: <product>' you answer six questions: how it began, the problem, what you made, what was hard, your milestones and your plans. Nothing is lost if you stop: the draft saves as you go. A story can carry up to 4 photos. 'Help me word this' only tidies the words you wrote - it does not invent anything.
Checks before it goes live
First make sure your founder profile at /account/founder is complete; the story displays your name and photo. It also needs at least 3 sections and 200 words, no more than 2 links, and no prices or offers.
Where readers see it
Each published story gets its own address, /launch/<listing>/story/<founder>. On your founder profile each product's story is listed; /stories lists them site-wide. The product's listing carries a card for the story. Because the story is a full-profile section, it is locked on a free listing until that listing is upgraded to a full launch.
Old links still work
Wrote one story for all your products before? It stays on your founder profile as general text, and every new product story starts from it. Earlier /founder/<name>/story links still take readers to your story, or to your founder profile if you wrote several. Edit any time and publish again - the change is live at once.

- The story of that product is live on three sites where the product is listed.
- Why is the story card locked on my listing?
- It is part of the full profile, which is locked on a free listing until it becomes a paid launch.
